Smile Poem by Liz Dyer

Smile

Rating: 4.5

Smile
Even though your insides are dead
And your thoughts are outside of your head
Even though you don't know what to do
Nor having anyone to go to
Even though that little bit of happiness
Each day get less and less
Slowly dying of stress
Because your life is such a mess
That you start to question is Jesus the one that you confess
Smile

Smile my darling
No need to have tears flow down your pretty face
A rope and fan will not solve your case
A cup of chemicals can not stand in place
A sharp edge cross the skin will not mend
Don't let the demons in your head tend
To direct you to that fiery dwelling
Those guns can not stop the yelling
Only end the anticipation that death is compelling
Smile

Smile
Even though your fairy tale land
Has broken to shatters
Forget marriage, Forget kids
That stuff doesn't matter
Bury deeper, Burn deeper
And *BLAH*
Dreams splatter
And reality just get sadder and sadder
Smile

Smile
Oh wait
Who smiles in those situations
Don't give me the talk
About the other part of the nation
I'm here, I'm hurting
My faith needs inflation
Stop helping, stop speaking
Won't smile towards darnation
