Smile In The Shadow Poem by Julius Alexandrov

Smile In The Shadow

I was out on the streets, riding the wave

Of the squandering blundering weekendly crave

In a corner a shadow was all that I saw

That glimpse of that woman from my mind I cant

draw

From the moment I gazed straight in her face

I learned that heaven and hell is the one and same

place

Everywhere it resides yet impossible to reach

For the portals of death only a woman could breach

Like the one that I saw just disappear

That left me in awe that left me in fear

Now I wait for her in every corner to lurk

For another glimpse of that devine evil smirk

Its strange in my dreams the only thing that I see

Is this endless loop of her smiling at me

then I wake up and its love that all my mind crowds

Is she just an angel fallen down from the clouds

Is she just the devil from the fires below

Or a princess arisen from the ancient old snow

Why didn't I follow her why didn't I run

It was winter but her eyes were as hot like the sun

Two sparkling green stars shining with radiant

flashes

Coming closer to her would have turned my soul into

ashes

Why did this goddess from a realm so devine

Fill my human cold darkness with jaden sunshine

The answer to this question ill never retrieve

But the moment we shared made me believe

Not in god not a lord not a kindgdom above

But the beauty and power of unconditional love

The beauty and freshness of each single breath

The miracle of birth and the purity of death

In each second each step and each perceived sound

Released from all stress and all quarrels I hover

around

The pulse of space and its ancient vibration

Has provided my existence with a sudden realization

Our earth spins without reason but only by cause

A connection I now feel when I inhale and pause

The pulse of this melody has mended my sight

Put me in a bubble of goodness a shield of insight

For its warmth and harmony guides clearer than light
