Smitten Poem by ryan general

Smitten

Rating: 5.0

Her smile used to blend well with the stars.
Almost a dream,
An enchantment,
A masterpiece…

Like mornings
And the shore
Like springtime
And days before

Her words used to captivate every soul
Almost a goddess to a mortal
Of heaven
Touching ground.

Like nights
And the sea
Like the summer sky
As seen by the trees

But things come clear as seasons changed
Revealing bolts of thunder beneath
The soothing rain

I believed…

Her smile and words and the mornings
And the shore.

Only to be smitten
And nothing more..
