So Close Your Eyes Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

So Close Your Eyes

Rating: 5.0

So close your eyes
And remember those innocent moments
I'm searching for a child who disappeared
The clouds disperse
The sun shines again
Becomes just a lake of joy
Each of the ever-changing Spring
A hysterical crescent moon above us
I will deliver happiness to wherever you sing

(dedicated to a great poet, Rita Dove)

A good thought. Fine diction. What is this 'hysterical crescent moon? '. This image is rather a disturbing one from my point of view. Crescent moon has very pleasing tones and void of hysteria.
