So Glad You Did Poem by Sara Militello

So Glad You Did

So Glad You Did

When you called remembering who...
I recalled you.
The way you spoke struck me like a flare
so my heart sure let me know it was there.

So glad you did ‘cause my heart
can stay hid behind a facade of aloof
without a showing proof
though I'm working to stray

toward a more amenable way;
perhaps into arms that know
how to hold and enfold
and know too how to prod
a shy heart into consenting bold.
