So Much About Sports Poem by Francis Duggan

So much about sports has been written and said
And the sports columns of newspapers by so many are read
For victorious sportsmen and women there will be a parade
And the top sporting people huge sums of money are paid
Suppose these top sporting people make many about themselves feel good
But in saying that this is something I've never understood
Why some in inflating other egos such great pleasure does find
So many different sorts of personalities amongst human kind
About the so called greats of the Human World we read of every day
Yet many of these people do seem ordinary in their own way
So many seen as successful suffer of self conceit
Amongst their ranks a humble one quite hard to meet
So much about sports in the news every day
For to keep the masses happy it does seem that way.
