So Much Dear. Poem by Driss Ezzireg

So Much Dear.

Rating: 5.0

Beautiful the smile that
Extends miles and miles
Caressing faces,
Giving impulses
Of happiness.
Beautiful the courage
Of a woman breasting
Her newly born baby;
The pain already
Forgiven.
Thankful the gods
For the hunter aiming
At a deer
Sensing her fear
Renounces to kill
On second thought.
Lucky the soldier
Seeing a child
In danger
Discovers himself
On saving her.
Rare the instant
A bird in flight
Getting insight
Shuns an attempt
At his life.
Common the moments
Such as these
That please the eye
That soothe the ear
That make life
So much dear.
