Soliloquy Poem by John Leroy Maxwell

Soliloquy

Whatever motives I have had
Whatever my life has been, can't be changed
Except in the ways I change it myself, by looking back
I have misspent my life in an unforgiving manner
All I can try to do is dress it in a few rags of decency
As I sit silently, somber in my room, the world
spins it's web around me
I sometimes choke with laughter, at my own
brazen dishonesty with myself
I live behind an invisible membrane
It's separates me from the rest of the world, and reality
It is unthinkable that one might die in such unimportance
Strolling thru lifes broken heart
