Her beauty only they saw
But never the pain behind
Her makeup made up not the anguish
Neither did the liquor
A super lady she was, grit and gut descried
For less difference it'll cost, she cease to utter
And that dying and smiling she was, it presented no one
O charming goodly stunning vedette
Her fame and cuteness knew no bound
But sufficient not for the distress' vanish
Why celebrated yet solitary, Vanessa?
To her fans or companions, scrutiny occurred not
For the pretence and guise they fell well
Sadly slowly her fortitude faded
Escalated was her agony
And worse it grew
Than her icy heart could grant
Down the stream
Took she her quivering legs a typical bitter evening
To forever drown her misery
Now a gem the world will miss.
In memory of Marylin Monroe 1926-1962
