Somber Sunset Poem by Stephen Black

Somber Sunset

As you see the sky turn red
And the sun drops down like a ball of lead

Would you mind if the moon comes out
And the somber setting makes you scream and shout

The contagion of this prosperity
While the sun falls in darkness's hilarity

Subdue your secrets to your friends
About how the sun's life will surely end

Darkness will subjugate light
Don't worry my dear, so full of fright.
You'll never see light, just the darkness of the night...

Your somber sunset
