Some Days Poem by Renee Jones

Some Days

Some days forget you are gone
Feeling the urge to talk to you on the phone
Begin to think you are in the den
Watching the news scroll on CNN
Saturdays you are watching Lifetime
Telling me you've solved the crime
Bet you would have loved 'Snapped'
Laughing as the women mis-happed
Can see you frying catfish and cooking mac-n-cheese
Using too much pepper, I can hear you sneeze
Miss all of those things
Missing you (mom) and hating the emptiness it brings
The memories we had were great
Hoping we meet again some day
