Some Kind Of Soul Poem by Nathan Strange

Some Kind Of Soul

Give me a brand new soul, this ones pretty much dried up
It’s burnt out like a naked candle in the breeze.

It’s a shame it wasn’t strong or stable enough to hold its ground.
It was weak and lame burnt out like an old light bulb.

It held back too much, and now it’s gone out!
Like a match in the darkness, it’s turned to dust.

No one would’ve even known it existed and no one even cared.
But I know it was there, and so I keep wondering!

Where the hell has it gone?
Give me back my soul, or give me another one.

I want to explore this god damn world! ! ! ! ! !
I want a soul that can fly up to space and touch the stars.

I want it to cause shattering earthquakes, great big floods and neon fires.
But it is already in you, it’s only been recharging.

And It’s been there all along!
Like a blazing orange lamp in a dark cold night

Like a luminous planet in the dark blue sky
It’s been flickering and jittering and you haven’t even noticed.

Nice poetic nihilistic rant...I've done a few of those myself.
