Some Men Out Of Love Poem by Francis Duggan

Some Men Out Of Love

Some men out of love get what they ask for in life
Ask this of Jim roe he will tell you Kate his ex wife
Was all he desired going back thirty years or so
But now he says he will never again repeat his mistakes of long ago
In the old age truism he now does believe
That some only flatter for to deceive
Before they were married they used to walk hand in hand on the street
And now they pass as strangers whenever they meet
Slowly over him she asserted control
And living with a domineering woman on his self esteem took toll
Their marriage in time lasted a fifteen years span
And he felt happy when at last she found a new man
Their marriage union gave life to Jimmy their son
On his last birthday he turned twenty one.
