Some Things Poem by David Harris

Some Things

There are some things
that are better left alone;
the past is one
for once it’s gone
you cannot get it back.
Best let it go and lay it to rest.
A lost love is another
for they probably have found someone new
and the more you search for them
the more you make yourself blue.
For there are some things
that better left alone.
The more we learn this lesson
the quicker we can move on.
Though we will retain our memories
as we move ahead.
These memories are there to comfort
at times when we are sad,
but we cannot recapture them
so it is best they remain memories
of good times we had.
As we stride into the future
new memories, we will make.
Therefore, it is best that we remember
there are some things
that are best left alone.
