Will I ever have you someday?
Will someday ever come?
Or is this just a selfish dream
To want you for my own?

Are my hopes and dreams too much
To plan for by and by?
Am I too high up in the clouds
With reason passing by?

Please tell me quick! I've got to know
Just where I stand with you!
If someday is too far away,
I'll do what I must do.

I'll smile and thank you kindly
For the love that you have shown.
I'll close my heart and lock the door,
A dear love I have known.
