Someone's Pain Poem by Tiya Sen

Someone's Pain

What do you do when someone's pain cuts through your heart?
Does it matter if that someone is miles apart?
Do you silently watch the life slowly fade from their being,
or do you try and fix the havoc your terrifed eyes are seeing?
Is it better to hold your tongue as they suffer in silence
or is it perceived as cold and inhumane instead of patience?
How do you tell them their agony makes you bleed too?
How do you tell them there isn't nothing more you wish to do
but soothe abd comfort their desolate mind
and fight away all the images that are being unkind?
How do you make them realise that your efforts mean
only to wipe their angst and despair clean?
Even though, sometimes the destruction is too massive to erase,
but the least we could do is hold their hands through the haze.
How could you ever explain their smile's worth in this world,
so tough and cruel, when it is the most cherished and yearned.
