Someone You Have Never Met Is Thinking Of You. Poem by Cerys Grant

Someone You Have Never Met Is Thinking Of You.

The morning is rushed by the standstill traffic.
The harsh sunlight fades the cars,
rage is always, only a moment away.

I see you,
there in front,
on the back of the that truck,
while I listen to the wine mellow counter tenor voice on my radio,
I see you,
and stare at you.

You should be singing this song,
with each sadly gentle turn of your weary head,
you should be singing this,
you should be hearing this.

This harsh sun of the morning has faded your eyes.
Your bones are truly weary of this world.
Especially now before your days toil will begin,
and where this blinding sun will be your only companion.

But unbeknown to you,
a stranger you never saw,
saw you as the star of a fleeting movie,
an actor on stage!

Portraying a glimpse of your life,
with your own soundtrack,
that plays silently in your distance,
on my radio,
too high above for your ears.
