You're wearing That perfume
As I enter Your living room
The same Perfume you wore
When we first kissed On the dance floor
Refrain:
---
The aroma of that fragrance takes me back
To the days We thought as one
When we saw Eye to eye
And when being together was such a lot of fun.
A bunch of fresias In your vase
Like the night When under the stars
You held me close Said I was yours
And you'd cross the sea to be with me On any distant shores
Refrain
The smell of The lentil stew
Entertaining friends Like we used to
Hot chocolate With marshmallow
And the melting butter running down A freshly baked potato.
Refrain
Now most of the time I feel that My presence you do shun
All these memories coming back Perhaps I shouldn't have come
Forget about the past Accept what's done is done
And accept some-one else Your affection he has won.
Refrain

Scents are very captivating and long-lasting. It's crazy how sometimes you don't even notice a person's scent until they are no longer in your presence and you smell something that reminds you of them and a swarm of emotions come back. I love your poetry...hits home for me
