Something To Lean On Poem by David Harris

Something To Lean On

Rating: 5.0

As we grow older
with each day that comes along,
this is when we view our memories,
for something to lean on.

We remember our teenage years,
the falling in and out of love,
the fun we had acting crazy,
at any given hour of the day.

We also remember
our marriage bliss,
the romantic strolls along the beach,
walking hand in hand.

Unfortunately, sadness hides there to,
and as we open one door,
we open that one too,
and those memories mingle with the happy ones.

Although they may bring a tear,
the happy ones
overtake them,
to put a smile on your face.

It certainly is nice to have those memories to lean on. I spend much time doing that and enjoy every moment as I enjoyed reading your poem. Another excellent poem David.--Melvina--

sometimes one must lean on the good memories to balance things out and help one forge through struggles

Memories of times gone by, to lean on as the time does fly... Of love won and love lost and was it worth the cost... David what a great poem..10
