Song Of Job Poem by Nadeine Burnett

Song Of Job

Rating: 5.0

Your feet guided me, my heart unafraid
'love me, fear me' I heard you say
unaware of the price to be paid
but sudden destruction came my way

The blood of my children painted on my face
as calamity struck, I lost them all in one day
why did sin enter the human race?
what have they done? for them daily I prayed

I burned, I cried, I begged for death
they told me I deserved it all
but for you I shall give my dying breath
for without you I shall stumble and fall

My heart and mind in rhythm, trusting you
though slain and shaken, It shall forever remain true.

The story of Job (Ayyub in Islam) finds its place in both The Bible and Quran. This beautiful poem narrates the story quite captivatingly
