Song Of Pain

Song of Pain
(a poem by Shakil Ahmed)

I can't think of something new
Full with radiant hopes
Unfolding the thread of possibilities
Opening countless orbits to move about
As the stars of galaxies
I wait impatiently and hover in darkness
To touch the rainbow of brilliant sky
Keeping aside the thundering roars
Of thousand devastating nights.

I swim in the fathomless ocean
Leaving aside unfurl waves
Holding radiant hopes in my palm
That are shattering into hundred slivers.

Many a time i have sung in pain
Like the bird of driving rain
I suffer alone on this dark land
And rush towards silence
Trees, mountains and rivers
All are standing by my side
Full with silent compassion

My sun is setting in the horizon
At the hour of florid noon
But I still hope, piercing the gloom
There will rise a radiant moon.
