Sonnet 3: 13 Poem by R B Seals

Sonnet 3: 13

Image from special day,
Her picture framed on wall;
A constant, bitter reminder
Of rejection and the fall.
Smitten, when first time
I beheld her gentle face,
The kind and gracious heart—
Their owner I dared embrace
Willing, with quiet aplomb,
To always care:
Giving love, loyalty, devotion,
To always be there
Ready to answer the call—
Learning later to regret it all.
