Sonnet: Dear God, In World Today … Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Dear God, In World Today …

If you allowed a rose with petals few,
Its beauty drops by standards of the world;
If you permit a rose with petals, dew,
A youngster nips it before it unfurled!

The fate of unborn babies seems like-wise;
Aborted are the healthier ones sans heart;
Now crimes against innocents are on rise;
Some chop the torso live as if by art!

Who can prevent the lies of wealthy men?
Who can prevent the thugs on killing spree?
Who can prevent the vain-glorious women?
Who can prevent the spread of hate afree?

No bard can poem infusing good sense;
Corruption, sinfulness afills hearts, hence!
