Sonnet- God Is Very Patient Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet- God Is Very Patient

Rating: 5.0

When all the land you see looks uneven;
The landscape looking rugged and filthy;
When all men seem worldly, anti-heaven;
Their minds and bodies, souls too unhealthy!

When all the air you breathe has odor foul;
By dust and smog and pollutants man-made;
No lung is spared, of man and beast or Owl,
And man lives lifespan shorter and must fade.

When all the deeds of men are self-centered,
Men live like Blood-suckers and Hounds and Fox;
Forgetting that all things are God-entered;
Man ignores soul as much as feet and socks!
The Earth appears like Wasteland everywhere!
Oh, ’Tis a wonder how the Lord canst bear.
