Sonnet- God's Punishment Will Come Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet- God's Punishment Will Come

Oh, how I wish to get my mind off men,
Who misbehave with brethren of own soil;
Oh, how I wish they were put in a den,
Or roasted live in a cauldron of oil!

For evil men, such punishments are right;
What crimes they perpetrate on their brethren!
They dare to do evil in broad daylight;
For money's sake, they readily harm men.

The plight of women seems to be much worse;
This is a world, male-dominated sure;
For how long will God allow them to curse?
And how much longer, they must hurt, endure?

But what to do, this is the way things are!
Yet, God is watching everyone, not far.
