Sonnet: Holy Matrimony Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Holy Matrimony

When two bodies, minds and hearts, God unites
In Holy Matrimony in His name,
In bond of light's sanctity, He ignites
The two forever to remain the same!

And no man dare to dis-join them at all!
The nuptial knot is sacred beyond words;
For earthly journey as two, 'tis God's call;
God's proclamation comes by tongue of swords!

But Lo! Some divorce as if by habit!
God won't forgive the mortal sin with ease;
No man declares one spouse as one unfit,
Except when proved by obstinate disease!

What God has joined, let no man put aside;
Better for man, woman in God abide!
