Sonnet- The World Is Topsy-Turvy Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet- The World Is Topsy-Turvy

Where has it gone, the brotherhood of man?
Where is the love that man has for neighbors?
What is the use of intellect and ken?
Man’s heart is selfish; others he abhors.

Oh, what a selfish world we dwell here-in!
Who cares about the poor man on the street?
The modern culture has taught men to sin;
’Tis rare to see two friends in friendship meet.

And militants target innocent lives;
And Nature too is cruel to poor men;
And Naxalites demand ransom with knives;
The world today is nothing but a den.

When Man does not think of the other man,
Become the world a better place, how can?
