Sonnet- The World Today(10) Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet- The World Today(10)

This world I see, does seem to live in lies!
One cheats the other very shamelessly;
The tendency’s becoming money vice;
And journey life, so very recklessly.

An air of discontent pervades the place;
An artificiality rather prevails;
Each wears a mask each time for his /her face;
Life’s ship on corrupt waters somehow sails.

There is no fear of God or of the law;
The rich escape most bitter punishment;
More than the rule, each one does note the flaw;
’Tis easy living with bad temperament!

The few good people also go berserk!
For righteousness, illuck still seems to lurk.
