Sonnet- Things Happen For Our Good Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet- Things Happen For Our Good

Does not the Lord know how I do my job?
Does He not know my disadvantages?
Does He not know I can't tell lies or rob?
Does He not know I suffer as wages?

The Lord my God knows I want to be good;
He listens to my prayers albeit late;
May be, He does not do things as He should.
But He knows what is best for me till date.

What If I can't enjoy the way some do;
What if I can't commit-their kind of sins;
What If I can't the evil-spirits woo;
When God asks me, my eyes I need not wince.

There is some joy in things both good and bad;
But man in mortal sins makes Maker sad!
