Soon Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

Soon

Soon, my heart will not race at the thought of you.
When you come into view, my eyes won't sparkle,
My face will hide it's glow.
I will not turn or smile at the mention of your name
And after a while, your voice...ah your voice,
Will not sound like music to my ears.
Your touch will be like all others, awakening no fervor
Within me...
Soon I'll not cry at the thought of saying goodbye
To our love -
Soon...
I pray
Soon!
