Soon I Will Be A Parent Poem by Anna Marie Galindo

Soon I Will Be A Parent

Soon i will be a parent,
and i wonder what to expect...
Im expecting astonishment. Perfection.
Every day with my child will bring me new wonders,
every smile enchantment.
ill be in awe each time i peer into the crib
and see a new person staring back at me through tiny eyes.
And ill be amazed,
because my life will change overnight,
and will never be the same again.
Im going to have to learn about life all over.
Through my child,
ill rediscover the varying shades of grass,
and the magical sparkle of the sun rising above the trees at dawn.
Ill marvel at each falling leaf,
each springtime blossom.
Often ill simply find myself smiling,
and i won't know why.
And every day,
ill reflect on how i never knew a love as true and unconditional.
When my child laughs,
ill be overjoyed.
When my child cries,
ill be sad.
No distance will ever separate me.
My bond with my child will last forever!
And all i want to do is enjoy it all! Cherish each moment.
This is the best time of my life,
and it will disappear way too soon!
And some mothers just mess out
and dont realize until its too late! !
