Sorrow Within Poem by Dani Johnson

Sorrow Within

that day you left
did you look into my eyes?
the anger i felt and
from your mouth poured those lies
i acted as though
i was invincible
my feelings though
acted invisible
i saw the pain
and grief you caused
when i saw what you did
i tuned out and paused
you never drank
or smoked or hit
but the lies you told
made me feel like ****
was it worth it?
for the smell of her skin
to rip us apart
you got it you win
i hate what you did
the whole six years
everytime i am sad
im reminded of those fears
i had to be strong
so she wouldnt cry
when asked if i was sad
i just made up a lie
for now im alone
now not then
when-dad- you realize
the sorrow within
