Sorry Poem by James Grengs

Sorry

Rating: 3.2

You led me to believe that this love was forever
And I thought in my heart that you meant it, too
But now I don’t know if I really love you

I thought once upon a time that you were the one for me,
And the feelings may have been mutual,
But they just aren’t anymore.

So let go, even if you don’t want to,
Let go, and understand that it is in your best interest,
And mine, because that’s what counts- making sure that we both live happy

I want you to be happy, or at least
I think I do, but who can be sure?
I mean, you’ve wronged me, more than once, and now you
are acting like you want me back?

Well, girl, I’m sorry, but I’m just not here for you to have back.
My heart is too free for you to have it now.
I want to love other girls, besides you,
Even if they don’t love me too.

I don’t care anymore if you are hurt by my displaced affections
Since you stopped caring for me
You wrote of all the guys you were meeting,
Even when we supposedly still had something,

So I guess we never had anything, other than our own immaturity,
Or something that couldn’t last three days, much less three thousand miles.
So let go, already. I’d be you’re friend, but I don’t think that is all you want. Sorry.
