Soul Gates Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Soul Gates

Windows peer through these eyes
Visions as far I can see
Imagination into procreation
The attempt to put this own self at ease

Such a vast universe within
Trying to shine it out as I go
Feeling all alone
Or am I?
Perhaps, No

Upon the deeper regions
Searching on and on
The source of all the pain
All the while trying to fill a void
Against the bequeath of my own disdain

Struggling onward abode
Mind in a tailspin delirium
Only to rise again
Then becoming enigmatic
Going left to right
East to west
Rogue to its cause

In the meaning of it all
Many trivial steps on accord
Hoping to not be the only one
With eyes designed
Upon an abstract digress explored

That for which cannot be easily illuminated in answers
Simple minds dim through an egomaniacal destress
Everything has to be explained
The unknown becomes labelled insane

I want to stray away from doubt
Go beyond, well a far and away
Only to be held close to understanding
Unified in a loving smile's grace
The soul of all the truest of forms

Building more windows as I go
To these visions upon this soul
Striving to create images that have never been seen before
All from within
Willing to share them all
To that for which judges me to an end
Indulged in a frigid frustration

Do I want to know the source of this pain?
Perhaps things are best kept unsolved
So life can have a more sacred meaning
In the mystery of what hurts me as a whole

That could have been my strength all along
Going above and beyond self
Exploring places never seen or sensed before
Detonating redundancy's qualm
To a great explosion
Freeing self of my own shackles
Enslaved by the doubts of past dissolve

I just want to defeat depression
Once and for all
Not just for me, but for one more
Burying it all beneath the furthest reaches
Showing it how it feels to be left alone

I am whichever path chosen
Nothing less, nothing more
Never forcing anything
Just blessed to have paths to explore
Wormholes to our souls

The universe is not just a place
It is a being beyond our own
We are home
When venture onward with strength
To the grand vast extraordinaire, the greater unknown

In a natural sense
What is found is found
For we have were never meant to be alone
That I know for sure

Now where shall we go from here?
Perhaps it is time for us to explore

In sacred times, Trust your soul
We are beyond our own control!

We are soul gates after all!

Let's open up
And now we shall explore!

We were never meant to be alone, For sure!
