Soul Mates We Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

Soul Mates We

I want to step where you step dear,
And hold your hand to keep you near.
And see things through two pairs of eyes,
That become as one when by your side.

I want our hearts to beat as one,
And feel more life, more joy and fun.
I’ll finish sentences that you start,
As you also know what’s in my heart.

I want to blend my voice with yours,
Singing lovers songs in rhyme and verse.
And when we stop to join our lips,
This heavenly journey was worth the trip.

And when our bodies join as one,
The hope is that you will not run,
And tenderly pull me close to you,
And whisper dear I love you too!

Two hearts that now beat as one.
Two pairs of eyes see much more sun.
Two pairs of arms to hug and squeeze,
Two pairs of lips bring ecstasy.

As soul mates traveling through this life,
In a world that’s full of pain and strife,
The journey will much better be,
As long as you stay close to me.

Together we shall love and cry,
And see things through more tender eyes.
As passion burns and flames within,
Our souls have merged as love did win!
If ever two were one my dear,
The time is now, the place is here!
