Souling Poem by Lonnie Hicks

Souling

Rating: 2.8

Give me your hand
for it is my life extended;

Give me your mouth
for its warmth keeps me alive

Give me your eyes for they see
for me
beyond my self.

Give me your
heat
in between
for without it's prospect
I wither.

Give me kind words;
they comfort me
and help me carry on.

Place beside me
your Understanding
for without it I die.

Sit quietly with me
because that reassures me
I exist.

For all this
I open my blouse
and show you my Soul
and you touch it with
your finger-tips.
