Southern Plantation Beauty Poem by Marilyn Lott

Southern Plantation Beauty

Rating: 5.0

Have you ever visited a plantation
That takes you to a different time
Shows you the beauty from before
A beauty that is rare to find?

I went with my special friends
To a home so full of grace
That we smiled with enjoyment
There wasn’t a modern-day trace

Thirty-two rooms on three floors
The staircases lovely to see
Windows dressed to perfection
Oh, how wonderful to me

The beds were designed for royalty
I would love to spend the night
Furniture, paintings and so much more
Were all a glorious sight

And the grounds, oh I must say
I could see ladies from long ago
A cup of tea in graceful hands
Dresses long with a stylish flow

We were served a delicious lunch
Oh, I could just plain settle in
Plantation beauty to perfection
Designed with a southern blend!
