Sparks Are All I Need Poem by Shane Dickie

Sparks Are All I Need

I feel alone and isolated,
I will find a way out of this trap,
Out of my feeling of alienation;
I imagine a brick wall with society
Being on one side and me being
On the other;
I picture myself, someday,
Through great and constant work,
With its cousins hope and diligence,
I will not yet bore a chink
In the wall but rather effecting
A spark, by thundering by Thor-like
Hammer into its face, the wall,
Sparks are all I need and want for now,
If I can only create sparks,
Then I can later burrow chinks
In the wall…then the wall
Become a symbol of hope
Rather than despair…
Sparks are all I need
