Speaking Tree Poem by hariharan prakash

Speaking Tree

Speaking tree….
I time travelled 10 years ahead,
Waking up from my bed,
Going to office to repeat the regular routine,
Missing my life as a teen.
On evening, I wanted to take a stroll,
In mid-way, came snow fall.
Searching for a shelter, I found a tree,
I started cursing not others but me.
Suddenly came a voice,
I found the tree speaking amidst the noise
It told me the following verse
"Stop giving yourself a curse,
I came as a seed, hoping to grow big, useful and give shelter,
But I was not ready for the scorching sun nor the shivering winter,
I became alone, nobody taking care,
My dreams became my nightmare,
I cursed myself like you,
I want to end my life with an adieu,
Surprisingly I decided to fight,
With all my might,
I came out of my comfort zone,
Extending my roots and breaking my bone,
Searching for a source to grow,
Finally found it in a burrow,
Yes, it took time to become into my current form,
It was because I understood; I was different from the norm,
I strengthened from my weakness,
Now, I am the tallest many gardens,
I am tall enough to enjoy the view,
The animals that I helped scare the humans like you,
I hope you understood, what I mean,
Now go back and explore your life as a teen"
