Spoken in dates –
A riddle given and
Answered by a stoic
Man, jealous of quiet
Time spent
Caressing a cat
Curled round her
Mistress’s chair.
Amanda Pleases,
And Thank-yous
But not enough
To fill the blank
Place between them.
