Spring Poem by Lydia Thacker

Spring

On days like this,
when the wind blows free
and the sky shines a warm blue,
making the vibrant life around me
readily apparent
and the world seem green and pure,
my heart sings.

My voice catches in my throat,
fearing to spoil the quiet beauty
with mortal imperfection.
Instead, I smile,
for once
truly feeling at peace.
