Spring Days. Poem by dave lessard

Spring Days.

When the day is fresh and lovely
when the air smells crisp and clean
I walk with eager quickened steps
and view the ever passing scene.
'Tis a world that's full of beauty
round the curve of each new bend
purple mountains in the distance
with the blue of sky do blend.
Flowers blooming in the garden
still smile at me as I pass by
the colors brighten up the morning
as does the throb of robin's cry.
Spring comes creeping in, like ivy
with the breath of new perfume
I open windows in the house
each and every walled-off room.
Another season fills the earth
with scents that gladden every nose
nature sends her rain-filled days
and leaves its traces on the rose.
