After a long persistent winter
We are now in an enduring thaw
The songbirds are here at last
Nature’s splendor hastens awe
Magic moments amaze my eyes
Dormant branches blossom forth
Buds burst and soon leaves follow
Vacation warmth has traveled north
Bulbs that were frozen push up foliage
The dull surface of the sleeping earth
Is a fertile bed for refreshing lush green
Colorful petals appear announcing rebirth
