Staggering Poem by Windsor Guadalupe Jr

Staggering

Hands, stiff

Eyes, shunned

Lost in a convoluted rift,

Frozen barrel of a gun

-

Mirrors speak

Fate be gone,

My faith is weak

Coming undone

-

Embezzled moonlight

Sunny haze,

Encompassed by the twilight,

Hallucinating disgrace

-

Gorged with a savvy,

Fantasy yields

Hope, come to me

Bring me to a verdant field

-

A musing quashed,

A longing that breathes

My lips are hushed,

Sorrow bequeaths

-

In the morning, renewed

In the night, astray

The angst imbues

the night – with the air of a deadly viper frayed

-

The moon assuages

This empty vessel’s starvation

Still, a dagger advances

Rummaging with dead set precision
