Stars Poem by Meghan Lindell

Stars

Tiny and bright they shine
like the hope that is
inside me.
Beaten and torn I stand
for the battle has worn
me down.

Broken hearted,
Angered and
hated by
all that
come near
me.

All that I follow now
are the little stars that
shine in
the sky and in my
broken heart.

As miniscule as they seemed
still they keep persisting on.
Keep your eyes on the
star in the dark sky.

Still they shine making the
path and the future engraved
in the sky.

Even in the darkest days
the stars kept me alive.
They kept me on the
path.
They kept me from straying.

Small and tiny yet always
there for me.

Stars.
