Starstruck

I watch at night the stars appear
and I imagine I can hear
resounding softly in my ears.
Majestic music of the spheres
To me it seems each distant mote
can represent a different note.
Forming part of the harmony,
an all embracing symphony.
A feeling that’s familiar,
perhaps peculiar to me.
It may depend on who you are.
You may see stars quite differently.
I really don’t expect that you will
see the stars the way I do

Poem of the Day

poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
