Starting The Day Poem by Ray Hansell

Starting The Day

The coldness of the day
Makes me want to stay in bed
But I know must get up
Says the voice inside my head

Slowly throwing back the covers
The cold grabs a hold of me
I go to look at the temperature
I don't like what I see

So I flip on the heat
Hoping it soon will be warming
To me the coldest time of day
Is in the early morning

Slowly I begin to thaw out
As I move about
Forever believing winter
Is a season I can do without

I agree with you, Ray. I could do without winter, but it does make us appreciate summer more!
