Startled Hearts Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Startled Hearts

Rating: 5.0

Dim reason.
With a confuse distraction made.
Spotlight divisions.
And indecisions to degrade.

Dim hope.
Sell fear.
Make it easier to purchase.
Bring scare tactics near.

A choice to hold onto faith grows.
Darkness slowly dissipates into thin air.
A quality of life returns...
To scatter fat rats.
And the fright of their appearance clears...
Disappears.
To calm and compose,
Those of startled hearts.
