Staying Strong Poem by Lane Muhle

Staying Strong

Full of love and laughter
But it all changed a few years after
Slowly dying off
Limb by limb
Slowly killing me
Sin by sin
Once full of the good
Now full of depression
I've been told this is a life lesson
But what am I learning?
How to fake a smile and cry inside?
Or find a friend to confide?
'Friends' only run and hide
Left alone to cry and die
Thinking I'm going to shatter
But I remember being full of love and laughter
That keeps me strong
That bond
That I've made with my past
That bond is the shadow I cast
