Still…still water interrupted
By a northern breeze blowing
In the quite early-morning moments
Before your foot steps step
As the moon fades the sun salutes
My dark shroud slowly lifted
My surface stirs, my insides warm
As your presence comes to view
You stop, you stare, admire me
So I sparkle for your eyes
I watch parched lips, part
As you silently mouth hello
Everyday you come to me
To kneel down beside me,
Lean your body, till your lips
Can taste of my sweet water
You drink and drink, your thirst unquenched
Till your thirst devours you
I give and give, all of me
Yet I have more still
Hours pass and you collapse
Only wakened by my touch
With smiling eyes and thankful heart
I watch your body rise
You thrust your vessel into me
Take some of me to go
Thank me for me and I for you
Kiss me hard a final time
Standing there upon my shore
You strive to fill your eyes
Redness, moistness, betray your smile
As you give your tears to me
I drink your tears…your water
It fills my heart with joy
I watch you leave, crest the hill
And wait until tomorrow
